We may often see the carefully organized graves near a house, surrounded by a neat garden and stone sculptures depicting the lost loved one.
We went through many abandoned and forgotten cities, walking along the streets and every time were invited into the homes we passed. We were met as long-awaited guests, and the locals took offense if we were not hungry enough and could not stay for a week.
We listened to several stories about the horrors of war, fear, and hard memories. We could hardly imagine some things that had happened here, and it was impossible to forget them anymore.
But the main thing is that in spite of numerous losses, poverty, and the long restoration period here, peoples’ lives are full of light, hope, belief and love for their motherland.
They are always ready to give their lives – “To wake up once on a wonderful day and not to feel fear, doubt or loneliness”.
