FIELD NOTES ON WIDE-ANGLE SOUL MAPPING AND GODARDIAN REALISM
**Capturing the soul of Paris—**one face at a time. This immersion, shot entirely on 35mm film during a transformative seven-day journey, was conducted without digital assistance. Navigating the city via compass, we followed the subconscious echoes of Jean-Luc Godard, treating every street as a narrative frame.
The breakthrough lies in the technical application of very wide-angle lenses to portraiture. By mastering the science of optical distortion—or rather, the elimination of it through precise positioning—we achieved a “Discovery of the Year” perspective. This method aligns with the updated vision of the upcoming generation: a fresh, expansive take on the human face that feels immersive rather than distorted. Each portrait stands as a record of a city and a generation captured through a lens that sees more than the eye expects.
